All Grown Up

I didn't realize until today that it has been since the 1st of November that I made a post here. It has been a very busy month for us. Tanesha, our oldest that was still at home has left home. She has left for Air Force Basic Training in Texas.

Tanesha was the first child we adopted. She came to us at 5 years old. I remember her first night in our home. She spent hours sitting underneath our computer desk afraid to come out. I just sat there with her until she fell asleep. It's hard to believe that was over 13 years ago.

This child who at 5 could barely eat with a fork or spoon is now a grown woman. This child who we were told was profoundly retarded, graduated high school and made the National Honors Society. This child who had been offered a scholarship to college decided that she wanted to serve this great country that we live in.  Do I sound like a proud dad? Your damn right I am. This child that who stole my heart 13 years ago, this child who will always be my little girl, is now all grown up.
