Another Good Day

October 25,2008. My sister in law came in this week to help my wife while I am recovering from the recent hospitalization. It's always good to see family. My career has taken us all over the country and never close to family. It makes it very difficult sometimes. Even traveling as often as we can to see them and them coming where we are as often as they can stretches the support system to the limit. Quite often it gets pretty lonely. We will be changing all that very soon but that's a story for another day.
Today we got out of the house and went on an adventure. Sort of. We live very close to a place called SkyDive Arizona. I've been told that people come here from all over the world to jump out of an airplane over the Arizona desert. It does provide the perfect climate for jumping year round. Temps are still in the 80's and 90's some days and it's almost November! Personally my tail would need to be on fire and someone would still have to throw me out of the airplane. I was a shirt there that said "Stupid Hurts". No Doubt!!!
The girls ( 2 and 4) thought they were in Disney Land!! I don't think I seen much that held their attention like this did ( well, maybe Mickey Mouse). We were able to view right in front of where the skydivers were landing. Rosy would duck as they came in to land and Mercedes was just in awe. A very inexpensive day, a very tiring day, a very cool day. So what's the point to all this? Well, I've spent most of my life working hard at the career and doing the things I thought were important so I could provide a good life for my family. It occurred to me that I've missed the boat on a few things. We had a better bonding day today than we have had in a while. It was a spur of the moment decision to go check out the crazy people who like to jump out of planes and I had a better time with my family than I have in a while. Hmmmm.
So my advise, turn off the TV, drag yourself away from the office or PC or whatever keeps you away from the people you love even when you are home and get out and do something together. You don't need to plan very far or take an expensive vacation or spend much money. Spend some time together to re-connect. Smell the roses as the saying goes.

Finally, I would like to open this forum up to anyone who would like to make relevant or posts. I would encourage you to register and perhaps let's talk. We might just give you a key to get in!
