Change of Plans
We had hoped to have more posts and resources set up by this date but life tossed us a curve ball.On October 2nd, I felt that special pain that I have come to recognize as "heart pain". Having had an M.I in 2003 and several angioplasties over the years, I've learned to recognize the symptoms special to me early on. A quick trip to the cardiologist and a heart categorization at the local hospital on the 3rd confirmed a new blockage. A quick trip to the specialist hospital in Phoenix, a stent implant and then back home on the 4th. It should have been a week recovery and then back to the normal routine. Modern Medicine!
This was however not to be the case. The evening of the 5th I developed a fever. I didn't think too much about it as I did just have intrusive surgery. On the 6th when my fever reached 104.8°, my wife called 911 and back to the hospital I went. Tests revealed that I had a bacterial infection in my blood stream. Hmmmm. Wonder where I got that. Not to bore you with all the details, 1 week in the hospital, 6 more intrusive tests and procedures to make sure the bacterial infection didn't permanently damage things like kidney, heart valves, etc. I was released once again to recover at home. In the mean time no work has been done on this or any of our other sites. We will be adding more parenting resourses throughout the week.
